The Hebrew and Greek texts refer to God as “He,” never as “it.” We also know that God is a personal Being because He thinks, acts, feels, and speaks—He communicates. That God’s essential nature is spiritual is implied in the statement, “God is not a man” (Num. 23:19). Jesus declared, “God is spirit; and those who worship Him must worship
